Here we are nearing the end of the stops on the roadmap to recovery and going from Traumatized to Empowered.
The last few weeks we have talked about “What is Trauma?”, “Being Willing to Release Trauma” and “Being Willing to Regain Your Voice”.
And now I am about to say the DREADED A word:
ACTION
In my own journey and the journeys of my clients this seems to be one of the absolute hardest steps and choices in the process.
“Action is the gas pedal to all momentum, shift and change.”
When I talk to clients about ACTION their eyes glaze over and a certain look of “being frozen” takes place. Can you relate? I am not sure if its sheer panic, the idea of actually moving into a new space that is UNKNOWN, or both and more.
It is interesting also what we define or “create” in our minds what action looks like. We, as trauma survivors, often go black and white with it. We have to do it ALL or NOT at all. We have to do it RIGHT or we blame ourselves and consider it evidence we are wrong, not enough or damaged. Broken. Incapable.
We think it will cost money we don’t have, take time we don’t have or come at some LOSS we just can’t bear.
So we DON’T take action.
We stay in an unrealistic comfort zone that makes us miserable and we would rather live there than take the RISK to take the step to CHANGE or SHIFT anything and feel that VULNERABILITY.
AND LET’S be honest with ourselves here: That VULNERABILITY, that perceived VULNERABILITY can help us to think we will be VULNERABLE to the trauma again or another trauma or worse.
So we DO NOT TAKE ACTION. This repeats itself over and over and over. In our thoughts…..over and over. We should do this or that. We could do this or that. Wish I would have done this or that.
The time has come once again for you to ask yourself will I be WILLING to take action?
You see it’s the “being willing” that is the important part. Once you open yourself up to being willing you can begin to take ONE STEP towards a step of action.
And seriously, that is the second most important thing. It all happens:
One step at a time, One choice at a time. Step by Step and Choice by Choice.
We are going to go through some steps this week on the Action Sheet that will walk you through using the past weeks sheets and writing down your choices and your steps.
Everyone’s will be unique to them.
That is the Third most important thing to know here. IT’S NOT A COOKIE CUTTER SYSTEM. Your life if unique, your feelings are unique and your traumas and experiences are unique. So YOU get to decide the steps.
Remember, I am providing the roadmap, YOU are providing the content to the steps, and together we will help you to move from Traumatized to Empowered.

I want to say thank you for taking me on your journey, your roadmap and HONOR yourself for going on this journey with yourself.
YOU ARE WORTH IT.
YOU ARE ENOUGH.
