In the conversation around self care and self love, I feel that a very important ingredient is missing.
We often read a magazine article or listen to a podcast on self care and think we should just be able to do it.
And when we try what others are doing for self love and care, but they don’t make us feel good or more cared for, we think we’re doing it wrong.
But I believe that the ingredient every person needs to find is what does self care mean to them.
It’s OK if self care doesn’t mean a hot tube with bubbles, a lavender candle or a walk in the park for you.
It might be getting a few minutes to read a book, or watch your favorite TV show that lets you escape.
I don’t care what it is – as long as you create the list of what counts.
And how are you going to know if its self care if you haven’t defined it for yourself? You won’t!
So let your activities count.
Take a moment and write the 10 top things that count as self care for you, the things that make you feel that you’re doing something just for yourself.
And when you do these things, you’ll feel nurtured and cared for. So that you are creating and choosing the life that you want.
If you’re feeling up to the challenge, I’d love for you to share your list in the comments below!
